Happy Halloween

Some GOULISH Halloween treats for you today...cackle cackle cackle (evil laughter).

THE WITCH'S SPELL FROM SHAKESPEARE'S 'MACBETH'
"Thrice the brinded cat hath mew’d.  Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin’d.  Harpier cries:—’tis time! ’tis time!
Round about the caldron go; In the poison’d entrails throw.—Toad, that under cold stone, Days and nights has thirty-one; Swelter’d venom sleeping got, Boil thou first i’ the charmed pot!
 Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Fillet of a fenny snake, In the caldron boil and bake; Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting, Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing,—For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf; Witches’ mummy; maw and gulf Of the ravin’d salt-sea shark; Root of hemlock digg’d i the dark; Liver of blaspheming Jew; Gall of goat, and slips of yew Sliver’d in the moon’s eclipse; Nose of Turk, and Tartar’s lips; Finger of birth-strangled babe Ditch-deliver’d by a drab,—Make the gruel thick and slab: Add thereto a tiger’s chaudron, For the ingrediants of our caldron.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Bourbon + Pumpkin Pie = DELISH!
My good friend KMM found this treat on the always brilliant Pinterest.  It was the perfect fall dessert on Sunday night!  Enjoy!

PREP TIME: 10 MINUTES
READY IN: 20 MINUTES
YIELDS: 2 MILKSHAKES

INGREDIENTS
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup half & half
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2/3 cup pureed pumpkin
1/2 tbsp **pumpkin pie spice
1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
2-3 oz bourbon
frosting & sprinkles (or cinnamon sugar) for glasses

DIRECTIONS (found online here):
**Create pumpkin pie spice by blending cinnamon, ginger, cloves & nutmeg together.  Add all ingredients to a blender and mix until combined.  Rim glasses with a light coating of frosting and then dip in sprinkles or pumpkin pie spices.  Shake and sprinkle cinnamon on top.  Top with whipped cream if desired.  See our finished product below and forgive the awful blackberry pics!

Monogrammed Mondays: Halloween Spirit!

It was a GORGEOUS weekend here in Chucktown and we are really starting to feel the fall weather.  Time to open the windows, put some mums out and decorate pumpkins!  I am excited to try these adorable monogrammed pumpkins for our front porch this year.  Maybe I will carve as well for a candle lighted monogram?  What will you carve this year?

What Rock Have I Been Living Under?

I discovered the doozie of a website pinterest.com this past weekend.  WOW.  Kudos to my friends that I am now "following" who have already been enlightened with this fabulous invention.  I am obsessed and I think it might actually be more time consuming than Facebook (thank goodness this was not around during study hours in College!).  Where else can you pull together all these great ideas from blogs, diy projects, food recipes, fashion statements, insanely gorgeous home decor ideas and much, much more?  The answer is...ummmm NOWHERE!  Here are some of the goodies that I am swooning over this week!
