Weekend Recap

I'm back from a world wind trip to Virginia to see family.  Sadly, Chris was unable to come but is feeling much better now!  I missed him dearly!

Our weekend involved a lot of driving, a lot of family time, and a lot of laughs!

Friday afternoon I drove up to Rocky Mount, NC and met up with my parents and sister to ride the rest of the way to Reedville, VA, to my grandparents house on the bay.

I was SO happy that there was still snow on the ground Saturday morning, even if it was not much.  It might be my only snow this year!

I got to meet my cousin's new baby boy, Ben, for the first time and he is just precious!!!

Nannie and Granddaddy got their Christmas present from Chris and I, since we did not see them over Christmas.  I did a little DIY wooden monogram on burlap canvas to match their house!

A bunch of us watched Pitch Perfect on Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised how funny it was!  Its a must rent!!!  The soundtrack is pretty darn good too, you can get it HERE.  I had no idea some of these girls could sing!

I got to spend a lot of quality time with my Granddaddy who has been recovering from pneumonia.  Great news is that he got a good report from the doctor today!  He will celebrate his 90th birthday in March!

ALL that were in attendance on Saturday night, we were still short 6 more of the Chamberlain clan but hopefully EVERYONE will be together soon.

My sister caught a beautiful sunset over the Rappahannock River on our way back to NC on Sunday night.  I can't explain how beautiful the area is, just as beautiful as Charleston, just in its own special way.

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday and HAPPY PGA CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK!!!!  I can't believe the tournament is finally upon us.  I feel like we should still be a year out, we have been talking about it so long.  Best of luck to all of my friends (and hubby) at Kiawah this week.  I can't wait to be out there this weekend sharing in the experience!

We had a really nice weekend.  Nothing too crazy but just a great one.

Friday night we went to a Lowcountry Boil at our friends the MacCoys' new casa.  Baby D made an appearance and we all took turns loving on him.

Aunts S, K & K love baby D!

Saturday morning Mr. R, our friend (and new neighbor!) Sara, and I went to the Celadon warehouse in North Charleston.  I'm not going to lie, I was not as impressed as I have been in the past.  They are really low on inventory.  Hoping to find a new tv console in the near future!  We also took advantage of the tax free weekend and I scored some new tennis shoes at the New Balance outlet for an additional 20% off.  Looking forward to Zumba on Tuesday now...

Sunday Mr. R had to start his work week since the PGA is in town (rent bikes!!!  Its the best way around island and to the shuttle stops, call 843.768.6001...yes, I had to put my plug in).  Sara and I went over to Mt. P to Homegoods and Old Navy.

Some items that caught my eye at Homegoods...

I was SO excited that my monogrammed necklace came in...found it HERE on Etsy for 1/2 the price of the Moon & Lola one.

I'm Baaaaack! Week(end) Recap

Not that I really WENT anywhere, Seabrook is only about 20 miles from our house!

It was a VERY eventful, yet relaxing week of work and play!  My parents got to Seabrook last Saturday and Mr. R and I were lucky enough to spend a lot of time out on the island with them.

Jesse Williams
This will be Jesse's second time in the Olympics (he went to Bejing).  He is currently the reigning High Jump World Champion.  We went to high school together and he was actually my escort for homecoming court senior year.  Look how far he has come:).

  • I am not ashamed to admit this but I might have spent the majority of Saturday and Sunday (during the RIDICULOUS heat here) watching Seasons 1 & 2 of Game of Thrones.  I am officially obsessed.  Time to download the books.

Weekend (and Monday) Recap

Yup, I did it again...got slack on Monday and didn't blog.  This weekend was extremely eventful and the rainy Monday didn't exactly motivate me.  However, it WAS an amazing weekend:).

First off, I have read 3 books since last Thursday.  It kinda helps when I have my tablet at home and Kindle has a "cloud reader" that allows me to read in a browser window.  I can't get away from reading and I love it!  All three were good...but so far Spring Fever by Mary Kay Andrews was the best.  I just downloaded the new Porch Lights by Dorothea Benton Frank.  They can all be bought for Kindle HERE.

Friday night and Saturday I spent my time at home cleaning, organizing, spray painting and cooking to get ready to celebrate the upcoming birth of BABY BREWER!!!  Three of my girlfriends and I threw a baby shower at my house on Sunday.

I re-painted porch furniture...and learned a very valuable lesson NOT to wear flip flops while spray painting!
Photo: note to self, don't wear flip flops while spray painting...atleast it makes my feet look really tan?!
atleast the paint was brown, so my feet just look tan

I re-arranged our living room to create more room and have decided I am OBSESSED with it.  **ps, this website is awesome if you ever need an interactive floor plan creator.  It even pulls furniture from Ikea! http://floorplanner.com/

Sunday was the big shower day and it turned out SO great.  Momma A has decorated the nursery in grey, navy and aqua so we kept with that theme and really loved how it all pulled together.  We ordered the pom poms from HERE (SO quick, shipped in 24 hours), the straws from HERE and the adorable invitations & custom art from HERE.  Baby D's daddy plays in a band, how perfect!

momma A--only one more month to go!

After the shower I got geared up for True Blood!!!  The premiere did NOT disappoint and I cannot wait to see where it goes this season!  OMG Tara is a vampire!

Monday night we had an impromptu dinner at our friends the MacCoys.  Mr. M cooked up some amazing pecan encrusted chicken!

Mr. M also found this little guy walking up the Stono Bridge on Monday...during the rain.  We were able to get him to suck down some kitten milk but he is in need of a good home!  Please message me, comment, etc if you or if you know ANYONE who might want to take this little guy (or girl?).  Seriously, anywhere from here to GA to NC we are willing to travel.  If not...he will be headed up to Charleston Animal Society :(.
