Happy Halloween

Some GOULISH Halloween treats for you today...cackle cackle cackle (evil laughter).

THE WITCH'S SPELL FROM SHAKESPEARE'S 'MACBETH'
"Thrice the brinded cat hath mew’d.  Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin’d.  Harpier cries:—’tis time! ’tis time!
Round about the caldron go; In the poison’d entrails throw.—Toad, that under cold stone, Days and nights has thirty-one; Swelter’d venom sleeping got, Boil thou first i’ the charmed pot!
 Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Fillet of a fenny snake, In the caldron boil and bake; Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting, Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing,—For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf; Witches’ mummy; maw and gulf Of the ravin’d salt-sea shark; Root of hemlock digg’d i the dark; Liver of blaspheming Jew; Gall of goat, and slips of yew Sliver’d in the moon’s eclipse; Nose of Turk, and Tartar’s lips; Finger of birth-strangled babe Ditch-deliver’d by a drab,—Make the gruel thick and slab: Add thereto a tiger’s chaudron, For the ingrediants of our caldron.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

If My Oven Worked...

I would make these yummy treats!  The oven was fried by lightning (along with our Wii, a computer cord, two breakers, and our cable) in July.  Come to find out the lightning fried the control panel so its going to cost us $500+ to fix it.  Good thing the Big Green Egg is working JUST fine:).

Monogrammed Mondays: Halloween Spirit!

It was a GORGEOUS weekend here in Chucktown and we are really starting to feel the fall weather.  Time to open the windows, put some mums out and decorate pumpkins!  I am excited to try these adorable monogrammed pumpkins for our front porch this year.  Maybe I will carve as well for a candle lighted monogram?  What will you carve this year?

Hello Fall, I've Missed You Old Friend

You wouldn't know it today in Charleston, with the ridic humidity and the monsoon-like tropical weather, BUT today is the first day of FALL, i.e. MY FAVORITE SEASON.  This means lots of yummy scents and some exciting times in the Reynolds household.  Maybe we can finally get our oven fixed and I can bake some pies...mmmmmm.

BEST CANDLE EVER (and most economical!)
If you want the most inviting fall & holiday smell ever (for an el cheapo price) look no further.  WALMART's Mulled Cider candle for $3 a pop.  Even mini sized for a whopping 99 cents.  I buy in bulk and my office loves it!

SAVING SOME AC COSTS!
The weather in Charleston is finally tolerable.  Which means I can finally leave the back door to the screened in porch open and open the windows.  Rals the cat ESPECIALLY loves this.  He can meanader in and out of the screened in porch where he pretends the chase birds, stalks lizards and calls on the occasional lady cats that walk by in the neighborhood.  Here the little sh*! is during the hot weather making a lot of ruckuss trying to get out.
"LET ME OUT!"
TV IS BACK...FINALLY
Mr. R and I can stop watching House Hunters re-runs and my DVR is about to get to full capacity with all the new goodies on TV!  The season premiere of Criminal Minds was AMAZING and we can't wait for Sunday's Amazing Race episode.  Mr. R loves Gloria on Modern Family and we are both loving the new show Up All Night.

VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November marks our first vacation in a year (and our FIRST ANNIVERSARY!) and we can hardly wait.  7 full days of fun in the sun on a Carribean Cruise with my family!

Going cave tubing and ziplining in Belize and can't wait for all that yummy food and drinks!

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS FALL?

Thinking Fall Thoughts

The beginning of this week there was just barely a *hint* of coolness in the breeze in Charleston.  It was a very noticeable difference compared to the opressive heat and humidity of late.  Granted it only lasted about two days, early in the morning, it gave a nice sneak peak into the upcoming months.  Media, stores, fashion, home decor, etc. seem to think we are already in late November and soon will have Christmas cards and decorations in stock so there have been plenty of items to spark my nostalgia for cool fall days.  Here are a few of my favorite things, what are some of yours?

Ultra-knit zip hoodie
I can't wait to jump into my favorite JCREW lounge clothes
with a good book and a glass of wine by a fire.

What about these adorable Halloween pumpkins for our front porch with a couple pots of geraniums?

Hopefully Mr. R, Tucker and I can schedule a quick getaway up I-26 to Asheville for a weekend to enjoy the beautiful fall colors of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
