b.r.b

If you haven't noticed I have been a little MIA.  I'm not exactly sure why other than I feel like I am in a little bit of a blog funk.  I'm bored and having trouble coming up with things to write about.  I am contemplating changing to the day 'themes' but do not want to copy cat all the other blogs in the blogosphere (however, it does seem to work mighty well for those out there!).  I just think it will help me mainstream my thoughts for the day instead of trying to come up with something rando.  Possibly I could come up with some 'new' ideas for the days while keeping in the same confines as other blogs.  ALL comments/thoughts/daily ideas would be appreciated!!!  Hoping to be back online next week.

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday all!  We had a very fast but fun weekend...now I'm exhausted.

Our weekend started on Thursday night with a concert out at Freshfields Village on Johns Island.  They had food trucks and lots of bars to celebrate the PGA Championship.  Unfortuneatly a huge storm blew up (literally) and cut the night short.

Friday night Mr. R's brothers came in town for the PGA Championship and we grilled some yummy steaks, squash and zucchini, baked potatoes and salad.

Saturday morning I got up at the crack of dawn to drive transportation out at Kiawah Island Golf Resort (as mentioned before Mr. R currently works for the Resort and I did for 6ish years so we have planning and anticipating this for a long time) for the PGA for a couple of hours.  Even drove a player's wife and children around.  Then we all went to the tournament.  It was SO much fun...until the rain.  Luckily we somehow stayed dry and were able to catch a shuttle quickly.

Sunday Mr. R and I got up early did the whole transportation thing again.  I drove around one of Ernie Els' coaches Sunday.  Actually she is in one of the pics from above (the lady).  Funny how that worked out and she was the NICEST.  Even showed me a pic of his trophy from the British Open!

After working Mr. R and I crashed on the couch to watch the final round of play.  We are so thrilled for Rory McIlroy and so happy with the footage on TV of the course.  It looked amazing (even more so in person!).  We love Kiawah and it is so special to us so it was such a rush seeing it all unfold.  Hopefully the tournament will be back in 2019!!

Leaving you with a little clip of our two furry children caught in the act.  This is a regular occurrence in our house.  They just love each other:)  (Don't judge the One Direction in the background, watched the Closing Ceremony)

I don't know about you but I love a good font.  Whether is very different or a good staple, free is even better!  Here are some recent finds...

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday and HAPPY PGA CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK!!!!  I can't believe the tournament is finally upon us.  I feel like we should still be a year out, we have been talking about it so long.  Best of luck to all of my friends (and hubby) at Kiawah this week.  I can't wait to be out there this weekend sharing in the experience!

We had a really nice weekend.  Nothing too crazy but just a great one.

Friday night we went to a Lowcountry Boil at our friends the MacCoys' new casa.  Baby D made an appearance and we all took turns loving on him.

Aunts S, K & K love baby D!

Saturday morning Mr. R, our friend (and new neighbor!) Sara, and I went to the Celadon warehouse in North Charleston.  I'm not going to lie, I was not as impressed as I have been in the past.  They are really low on inventory.  Hoping to find a new tv console in the near future!  We also took advantage of the tax free weekend and I scored some new tennis shoes at the New Balance outlet for an additional 20% off.  Looking forward to Zumba on Tuesday now...

Sunday Mr. R had to start his work week since the PGA is in town (rent bikes!!!  Its the best way around island and to the shuttle stops, call 843.768.6001...yes, I had to put my plug in).  Sara and I went over to Mt. P to Homegoods and Old Navy.

Some items that caught my eye at Homegoods...

I was SO excited that my monogrammed necklace came in...found it HERE on Etsy for 1/2 the price of the Moon & Lola one.

Olympic Thoughts and A WINNER!

Clearly the Olympics are happening, duh!  A couple observations/thoughts so far...
    VIA
    • I LOVE the girls gymnastics team.  It was so excited to watch them win and to see the face, with tears,   of sweet Aly Raisman while she finished her floor exercise and knew that she had nailed it.
    • I'm really aggrevated with all of the 'spoilers.'  You can't go anywhere online and not see the results.  Darn you NBC for not showing it in real time, especially since London is only 5 hours ahead.  Their live stream option kinda sucks too.
    • I can't keep from crying watching the parents as their children win.  Tears fall every time.  They are also rather hilarious while cheering on their children.
    • I have been really impressed with Michael Phelps.  He seems so cool and collected and just enjoying himself.  Ryan Lochte on the other hand...I just am not Team Lochte.  Other than being a phenomenal athlete, not into the gemstone grill, so sorry I'm not sorry:).
    • Charlie Houchin (top left) with Davis Tarwater (top right), Matt McClean (leaning over the starting block) and Conner Dwyer (in the water)
    • I am SO proud and happy for Raleigh boy Charlie Houchin.  He swam in the prelims for the USofA in the 4x200 free   relay (yeah, the one Phelps got his historic medal in), and his swim qualified the team for the finals.  Therefore, he is officially a gold medal winner!!!!  Here is a pic my mom took and photo shopped of their family dog, love it!  So so thrilled for Charlie and the Houchin family!
    • The other Raleigh boy, Jesse Williams, starts his quest for gold on Sunday in the high jump.  Really looking forward to the track and field events!!

Hump Day Inspiration ~ 10 Ways Being A Theatre Major Prepared Me

One of my college professors recently shared Tom Vander Well's interpretation on how being a theatre major can help you in life, especially when what you are doing now, may not have absolutely anything to do with theatre.  I'm a proud theatre major and becoming one was one of the best decisions I have ever made!  You can read Tom's original post HERE.
