  • I'm slightly obsessed with the new Dallas.  Thank goodness for some sort of drama this summer, I'm starting to get tired really fast of all the reality shows!  PS, whats up with J.R.'s eyebrows?  They have a mind of their own.

  • A friend of mine (see her blog, Tupelo Honey, HERE) and some of her teacher friends had a Pinterest party.  Everyone picks a recipe from their pins and have a little get together.  I am really wanting to do this!  Brilliant.

  • ASHLEY BROOKE DESIGNS is doing a Summer Favorites Give-a-way.  How fun would it be to win all these goodies??  Info on how to enter on her blog HERE.

  • My family comes tomorrow for a whole WEEK!  They will be staying on Seabrook Island and I cannot wait to spend time with everyone.  They are also bringing my car back (since it was my MOM's that was totaled).  Mr. R and I can't wait to get back to 2 cars.

Urban Village Raleigh

Meet Brooks Murphrey: Co-Owner of the adorable Raleigh, NC boutique, Urban Village.  Brooks and I went to high school together in Raleigh and I am so excited for her new business venture and LOVE the goodies she and her partner, Jennifer Harriss, choose for their stores.

From Brooks:

Urban Village specializes in fine stationery, invitations, gifts, furniture and home décor.  We have a distinct selection in a unique setting that provides for a comfortable and personal shopping experience.  Our wide variety of merchandise makes us special.  We have an eclectic mix of items that will suit any individual or occasion.
Jennifer Harriss opened the first location of Urban Village in 2008 in Edenton, North Carolina. Jennifer and Brooks Murphrey partnered to open an additional store in Raleigh in November, 2011.  We wanted to share our sense of style and offer unique finds in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.  Urban Village offers stationery and invitations that can be printed in house in usually just one day. We also represent several lines of beautifully engraved and letterpress papers which can be personally designed for a custom product.

Check out a small selection of the great products they carry..

    Thinking Fall Thoughts

The beginning of this week there was just barely a *hint* of coolness in the breeze in Charleston.  It was a very noticeable difference compared to the opressive heat and humidity of late.  Granted it only lasted about two days, early in the morning, it gave a nice sneak peak into the upcoming months.  Media, stores, fashion, home decor, etc. seem to think we are already in late November and soon will have Christmas cards and decorations in stock so there have been plenty of items to spark my nostalgia for cool fall days.  Here are a few of my favorite things, what are some of yours?

    Ultra-knit zip hoodie
I can't wait to jump into my favorite JCREW lounge clothes
with a good book and a glass of wine by a fire.

What about these adorable Halloween pumpkins for our front porch with a couple pots of geraniums?

Pumpkin Pie from the Queen B of Southern Cuisine, Mrs. Paula Deen

Beautiful Color Changes in Marsh Grass--Seen here, November 2010 at me and Mr. R's wedding.

    NC STATE WOLFPACK Football
    Raleigh, NC Born & Bred

Hopefully Mr. R, Tucker and I can schedule a quick getaway up I-26 to Asheville for a weekend to enjoy the beautiful fall colors of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
