Thoughts & Red Carpet Wish List

Ahhh, Friday.  Its been an extra long week coming off of two straight 3-day work weeks.  I am ready for the weekend.

  • HELP!  Does anyone know where I can purchase a pair of these earrings without the beads?  They used to sell all kinds of them at Copper Penny.  I can't find them anywhere online...

  • I scored the deal of the century yesterday at Forever 21.  Let me disclaimer that I do not like to spend a lot on boots.  My three year old Charlotte Russe pair have finally bitten the dust.  I found these online but didn't want to pay shipping so I made a quick stop to the store on King Street and got THE LAST PAIR...IN MY SIZE...for $12.99.  It was fate.  They are still available online, AND F21 is offering an additional 50% off with the promo code EXTRA50.  I mean, $6.99 for boots???!!!  Oh and just a tip, they run small.  I normally wear an 8 but had to get a 9.

  • This weather is going to be fabulous for our painting this weekend.  I can't wait to open all of the windows and the door to the screened porch.  Not sure if mother nature thinks we are in May already but I will take it!

  • Speaking of painting, we are using this color scheme.  It is by Valspar from Lowes and we are painting over the original Comet Dust with Notre Dame (living room, kitchen, foyer, stairwell, and upstairs hallway) and painting over the original Notre Dame with Granite Dust (dining room).  So far it looks great!  Before and after pictures to come.

The Golden Globes are on Sunday and I cannot think of a better way to reward our weekend of painting then plopping my butt on the couch and watching the whole thing through, INCLUDING E's Red Carpet with Ryan and G.  I have been pouring over the recent runway shows picking out gowns that I am dying to see on the Red Carpet this season.  There are so many beautiful and fashionable actresses nominated for awards, I can't wait to see who dresses them!  Who are you excited to see??  Or am I the only one who really digs this stuff?

Best & Worst: People's Choice Awards (AND Oscar Noms!)

Awards Season (AKA, my favorite time of year) is upon us!!  Oscar nominations were announced by Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone at 8:30 this morning.  If this presentation is any indication of Mr. MacFarlane's hosting gig this year, we are in for a good show.  The nominations did not disappoint with my favorites, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway all scoring noms.  It looks like it will be quite the fashionable red carpet and I can't wait!  Time to start screening the flicks so I can make honest judgments!  For a full list of nominees, including my favorite category costume design, see HERE.

On to the first major awards ceremony of the year, People's Choice.  Enjoy my honorable opinion of the frocks seen last night!  What did you think??

Hump Day Inspiration

One of my goals for 2013 is to put my trust in God more and find peace with Him.  I know I worry a little to much about the minor things in life!

New Year, New Look

Well HEY!  After a good 6 month or so hiatus, I got the itch to blog again.  And what better way to start out the new year but with a new blog design?  Do y'all like it???  Loved working with Kate at 17th Avenue Design Shop for my new look.

So, where have I been?  That's another (lengthy) post for another day.  For now, I'm just going to concentrate on the past weekend and a look ahead into 2013.

Chris (yes, that's the mysterious Mr. R, he gets a name this year) and I had a lazy/productive weekend at our abode.  Friday night it was our favorite Mexican dinner and then a quick jaunt to Target for a heating pad for my shoulder and neck.  BEST.THING.EVER.  Then I obliged Chris by watching not one but TWO videos of Phish's New Years shows via his new sound bar for our TV that he got from Santa.  Not going to lie, they were pretty good, but the New Years countdown was a little crazy.  Midgets, golf carts and balloons!!

Saturday we ran some oh, so exciting errands (I have never seen Costco so packed) and got really lazy on the couch.  I caught up on about six episodes of Chicago Fire since my co-worker had been raving about it while my three boys did this:

Sunday we were up early finally taking down Christmas and then decided it was a great day to repaint our downstairs.  I have hated the original paint color since we put it up, it literally looks like white, and with an EXCITING baby shower I'm hosting at the end of the month, now seemed as good as time as ever and we are SO happy with the change.  Its still a work in progress so this coming weekend will be filled with more paint fumes.  Here's what we have so far.

RIGHT at the very end, someone decided he wanted to help us and ended up looking like a raccoon.  Any ideas on how to get this out??

We capped of the evening with a yummy steak and potato dinner, red wine, and curled up to watch 'Its Complicated.'  I can't wait to watch Downton on DVR!!!

We were also blessed yesterday that my sweet Grandaddy came home from a stay in the hospital from pneumonia.  He will celebrate his 90th birthday in March.  I am so excited to see him in two weeks in Virginia!  My aunt snapped this picture after he got home yesterday, enjoying the Redskins-Seahawks game.  I love you Grandaddy!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!  I'M GLAD TO BE BACK, AND ROLL TIDE TONIGHT!
