Weekend Recap

I hope everyone enjoyed this beautiful weekend!  I saw lots of pics on Facebook of people on the boat and at the beach.  I feel like it was the first REAL beach/boat weekend of the season!

Friday night Mr. R and I went to see some friend's band, D n' R play in West Ashley.  I left early but Mr. R stayed with the 'D' of DnR and had a little TOO much fun.

Saturday morning we got up and drove to Spartanburg to visit our family and take Mr. R's mom back.  Tucker enjoyed the ride with his Grammie.

Saturday afternoon we got ready for a nice family dinner for our oldest niece, KCR, 7th birthday.  We took a little trip to Irwin Ace in Sparkle City for our favorite cooking seasoning, Yep Shake.  This stuff is AMAZING.  Also while we were at Irwin Ace, Mr. R treated me to this cute clutch.  I can't wait to use it!

My brother in law made some killer ribs on the Big Green Egg and we celebrated KCR's bday with yummy oreo cake!

Sunday the girls did a little flowerpot painting (I think E did more on herself than the flower pot) and then cooked out and had MORE cake for K's bday, this time ice cream cake from Bruesters (a must have in Sburg)!  We planted some seeds that K got and then headed back to Chas.

Thoughts

  • ITS FRIDAY!!!  Thank you Lord!
  • Has anyone seen these videos of Luke Bryan doing his 'move'?  They are too funny and he is too cute!   I saw them over at DAY OLD NEWS and just had to share. He, as well as load of other country artists (including my girl Miranda), are playing this weekend, at a weekend long festival in northern California called STAGECOACH.  I so wish I was going...check out the line up, its phenom!

  • Mr. R is beyond thrilled because he found out today that he got tickets to PHISH for BOTH Atlanta and Charlotte.  They are two nights in a row AND on Mr. R's 32rd birthday weekend.  Mr. R has told me "all he wants for his birthday is for me to go to the Charlotte show" so looks like I am going!  Not going to lie, would much rather be going to this show than Widespread Panic!

  • Our oldest niece, KCR, is turning 7 on Sunday and we can't wait to see her!
  • We are going to see some good friends play music tonight for dinner.  D n' R will be playing from 6-9 tonight at Southside 17 in West Ashley if you want some good music and good food tonight!

  • When is Jessica Simpson going to have her baby?  I feel like she has been pregnant FOREVER!

  • Charleston's own American Idol, Elise Testone was voted off last night.  She rocks and I can't wait to see what becomes of her!

  • As some of you know I work in Real Estate.  There is a GREAT article in Real Simple's May issue titled "How to Buy A House: 7 Essential Checklists."  If you are thinking of buying and overwhelmed by the even thought of it (as I was) or just want to learn more about the buying process, this a wonderful article for you.

  • Reynolds Wrap-Up had the most views EVER yesterday with my featured post of Urban Village Raleigh.  THANK YOU everyone for reading!!!

Urban Village Raleigh

Meet Brooks Murphrey: Co-Owner of the adorable Raleigh, NC boutique, Urban Village.  Brooks and I went to high school together in Raleigh and I am so excited for her new business venture and LOVE the goodies she and her partner, Jennifer Harriss, choose for their stores.

From Brooks:

Urban Village specializes in fine stationery, invitations, gifts, furniture and home décor.  We have a distinct selection in a unique setting that provides for a comfortable and personal shopping experience.  Our wide variety of merchandise makes us special.  We have an eclectic mix of items that will suit any individual or occasion.
Jennifer Harriss opened the first location of Urban Village in 2008 in Edenton, North Carolina. Jennifer and Brooks Murphrey partnered to open an additional store in Raleigh in November, 2011.  We wanted to share our sense of style and offer unique finds in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.  Urban Village offers stationery and invitations that can be printed in house in usually just one day. We also represent several lines of beautifully engraved and letterpress papers which can be personally designed for a custom product.

Check out a small selection of the great products they carry..

Hump Day Inspiration

I tend to get caught up in life's little messes and not focus on the big picture.  I don't think I thank my husband (or family) enough for bringing me back down to earth and reminding me how great our life actually is.

Sometimes easier said than done!! But what a great thought!!

Bought this last night at Target and LOVE it!  Not the best picture but in some lights it looks pink and others it looks coral.  Great for spring and summer:).

Weekend Recap

We had such a fun weekend!  Friday night we were lucky enough to celebrate the wedding of our good friends Lauren & Aaron.  The ceremony was at Stella Maris on Sullivan's and the reception was at the Daniel Island Club.  The bride (and groom!) looked stunning and the reception was a BLAST.  The wedding was black tie so it was fun to get all dressed up.  I had never seen Mr. R in a tux before and WOW he sure cleans up nice:).

50 Shades

I read all three books within the past week.  Literally COULD.NOT.PUT.DOWN!  Now, they are by no means the best written books I have ever read (I can think of hundreds of others better) but DAMN, E.L. James can really suck you in with her erotic, and now viral, novels.

Thoughts on the book (and quit reading now if you have not read at least the first one)...

-How in the world was Ana able to have sex that many times a day and was still able to walk?  Seriously now, that is NOT reality.
-Did anyone else start skipping over the sex scenes towards the end just to get to some of the actual storyline?
-Did you get tired of their ridiculous fighting?

Of course the big story now, if there were to be movies, who would play Christian and Ana?  First off, I would much rather see this as an HBO Miniseries or something because I'm not sure a movie will do it justice, especially if the rating can only be R.

I know the thoughts would be Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.  Yes, I agree they would be phenom but for some reason I picture a dark haired Christian...how do we feel about Matt Bomer from White Collar?  I know he is gay in real life but WOW he is gorgeous.  A little shirtless action too to give you an idea for the naughty scenes.

Matt Bomer Picture

OR---get this---Jonathan Rhys Meyers.  If you have ever seen the first couple of seasons of The Tudors, you KNOW he can be Christian.  He's a controlling, manwhore as Henry VIII and fine doing sex scenes...to say the least.

I do 100% agree with Emma Stone as Ana.  She is young enough and so quirky that I think she would be perfect.  Another thought would be Jessica Chastain but thinking she may look too old??  Emma ROBERTS might be an interesting breakout actress for this...
